Now there are hundreds of stunning walks and hikes to do in the Portes du Soleil (see Summer Activities), but one of our favourite is accessed directly from the chalet, and takes you on a 30 to 45 minutes walk up the hill to the stunning view point that is the ‘White Cross’ at La Chaux. The walk is a little steep in places but it is well worth the effort as on a nice sunny day you can admire a panorama that includes ‘La Grande Terche’, the ski resort of Saint Jean d’Aulps, and the most amazing view over Mont Blanc. There is a picnic table at the top, so bring refreshments to enjoy with the view. The walk back down the hill will only take you 30 minutes and you will be back to relax for a well-deserved rest on the terrace, in the garden or in the hot-tub of l’Ecuela.

After 4 years of hard work, many difficulties, unexpected hardship and many many surprises, good and bad, our ‘grand design’ job was completed for winter 2016. We have had to change all internal walls, the entire roof, all floors, all wiring, plumbing, windows, garden etc.. but we think that it was all worth it as we opened our chalet to customers at Christmas 2016.

We have 6 double or twin bedrooms and one triple room, 5 of them ensuite and 2 sharing a bathroom. All are spacious and combine wood and where possible, the original stone walls of the old school. The lounge and dining room can sit 15 people and the kitchen has been equipped to the highest standard. There is also the added bonus of the outside space including a large terrace, garden and wood fired hot tub to make the most of the beautiful surroundings as well as a large purpose build studio that we use for our emotional wellbeing coaching.

The chalet is 15 minutes drive from the center of Morzine, less than 20 minutes from Les Gets and Ardent (linking directly to Avoriaz) and 5 minutes from La Grande Terche, all part of the Portes du Soleil.
